About this survey

The Institute of International Education's (IIE) Research, Evaluation, and Learning Division invites you to participate in the International Students with Disabilities (ISD) Survey.  This survey is being conducted by IIE with the support of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State.

The survey focuses on the following three areas related to international students with disabilities:
     1. Data collection processes
     2. Data on the number of international students with disabilities
     3. Institutional supports and resources

We ask that you complete this 17-question survey to the best of your ability.  We provided options throughout the survey to indicate if you do not have data or are unable to report data at this time, as these responses will inform our future research.  We encourage collaboration on this survey between international education and disability resource practitioners to provide the most comprehensive data as an institution.  A PDF of the survey can be accessed here

Findings of this survey will be aggregated and disseminated publicly to help higher education institutions, researchers, and policymakers to better understand the landscape of data on international students in the United States with disabilities.  We ask you to provide your name and institution to ensure that we are not double-counting multiple responses from the same institution.

If you have any questions or concerns about this survey, please contact opendoors@iie.org.  The survey will close on Friday, August 19, 2022.
