IIE Summit Voice Application 2019 

Be a Voice at the IIE Summit 2019 and attend for FREE!

The Institute of International Education (IIE) is seeking individuals to join the IIE Summit 2019 as a Summit Voice! The IIE Summit 2019: The Future of International Education will take place February 17-19, 2019 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Grand Central, New York City. The Summit will convene more than 500 leaders, influencers, and practitioners from education, government, business, philanthropy, and media for action-oriented discussion as we envision the next 50 years of international education, specifically centered around the primary themes: student mobility, access and equity, scholars and innovation, higher education in emergencies, and international partnerships.

The Summit Voice initiative provides an opportunity for participants of international programs, students, or young professionals to share their perspectives, network with colleagues, and gain new marketable skills at the IIE Summit 2019. During this professional development opportunity, Summit Voices will participate in sessions as ‘active participants’, learn event management skills by supporting conference logistics, as well as, generate dialogue and discussion throughout the Summit during sessions and through social media. Applicants may apply to participate for one or more days of the conference. 

Summit Voices Responsibilities (roles and times may vary and are outlined in the application)
- Share your experience or perspective during Q&A at assigned sessions.
- Participate in the IIE Storytelling Corner to present your international education experiences.
- Actively contribute to discussions and debates during workshops, roundtables, sessions, and plenaries.
- Provide logistical and other event support as assigned (e.g. working at the registration desk, providing logistical support at sessions, directing people who have questions, etc.).
- Active social media posting. 

Summit Voices will receive complimentary registration to attend the conference. IIE will not be able to support travel to or lodging in New York City. If you have participated in an international program, please consider asking the organization or your home institution if they would be willing to sponsor your participation as a Summit Voice. If you know of a potential Summit Voice that you’d like to sponsor, please forward the information to them. 

The interested individual should submit the Summit Voice application by Monday, January 21


Applicants will be considered based on the strength of their survey responses, public speaking ability, and availability based on Summit scheduling needs. Accepted Summit Voices will be required to attend a webinar training session prior to the Summit (save the date for January 31 at 11:00am-12:00pm EDT and a recording will be made available).
